ABOUT THIRD GRADE
This year, students are learning to be independent readers and learners. I will be teaching Reading, Writing, and Language Arts.
Reading-Students will be bringing home books chosen for them and books of their choice. They will need to read 15-20 minutes a night. Class time will consist of a read aloud most days, mini lesson on a skill, guided reading/independent reading, and stations.
Writing-We will have a mini lesson on the writing skill being taught, independent writing time, mentor sentence(focuses on grammar), and phonics. Students will be expected to revise and edit a story for mistakes.
